Our History

Building a Better Tomorrow, Together...

Established in 2016, Zoom Bangladesh is a registered non-profit organization under the Ministry of Social Welfare, Government of Bangladesh. We are a youth-driven foundation committed to transforming lives by working with street children and underserved communities.  Our mission is to ensure access to education, healthcare, nutrition, and social awareness for those who need it most. Beyond schooling, we run various humanitarian and social development programs that promote dignity, opportunity, and empowerment.

Over the years, Zoom Bangladesh has become a trusted name in community service, driven by passionate volunteers who believe in sustainable, long-term change.

Journey of 2016 to 2025

In just nine(9) years, from 2016 to 2025, Zoom Bangladesh School has helped over 1,550 marginalized street children gain literacy. The journey began with a small group of 13 children in Segunbagicha, one of Dhaka’s busiest neighborhoods. Initially, the program focused on engaging street children who wandered the area, and volunteer teachers would gather the kids on the roadside, conducting classes on banners laid out on the ground. Despite the challenges of teaching outdoors, the number of both students and volunteers gradually grew, expanding Zoom Bangladesh School’s reach and impact.

Zoom Bangladesh's scope of work has expanded over time...

After Segunbagicha, the school opened a second branch in Palashi with support from young people at Dhaka University, who shared a commitment to providing free education and fulfilling the basic rights of street children. The children’s eagerness to learn was remarkable, with many walking from distant places like Gulistan and the High Court area just to attend classes. In response, Zoom Bangladesh School opened additional branches in these locations, meeting the rising demand for education among street children. Over time, recognizing the need for structured educational spaces, Zoom Bangladesh established formal academic schools in areas like Hatirjheel and beyond Dhaka.

Zoom Bangladesh 2016

Zoom Bangladesh School now runs 9 branches, evolving from open-air classes to structured academic buildings. Along with literacy, the school focuses on life skills, moral values, and creative development. Lessons are simple and engaging, with an emphasis on quality education, cultural growth, and critical thinking—preparing students to contribute meaningfully to society.

To keep students connected in the digital era, Zoom Bangladesh offers computer and science education. Weekly activities like dance, singing, and “Fun Science” nurture creativity. While academic branches follow the national curriculum, open schools focus on basic literacy and moral values. Over the past five years, literacy rates among students have steadily improved.
